Itinerary

Day1

6:20am           Depart:   Amtrak-Pacific Central Station in Vancouver 

Amtrak Train with its panoramic windows are designed to showcase the spectacular Pacific Northwest scenery. From the train, view the Cascade and Olympic Mountain range, Puget Sound, Columbia River and snow-capped Mount Hood rising skyward near Portland. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your trip without the stress of driving. 

 3:00pm         Arrive:  Amtrak-Union Station in Portland

America’s Hub World Tours will welcome your group to Portland upon arrival. Then travel via company vans or ride the newly christened Green Line of Portland’s award winning light rail transportation system to your hotel for check in and a chance to relax before exploring the city of Portland.

Big city excitement and small town charm make Portland, known as “the City of Roses,” one of the favorite destinations in the West. Portland is situated approximately 70 miles (112.7 km) from the Pacific Ocean in the managnificent Willamette Valley  offering the sparkling waters of the Columbia River to the Cascade mountain range.

Before you start your evening activities of dining and entertainment enjoy a casual stroll through Pioneer Place Shopping Center.  In the heart of downtown Portland you will find Pioneer Place Shopping Center,  four city blocks filled with shopping, dining and entertainment.  With Tax-free shopping you’re certain to find the greatest deals possible.

Day 2          

9:00 am             Portland City Tour 

Before our shopping day begins, enjoy the sites of Pioneer Square, Portland International Rose Garden and learn about the great diversity found in Portland’s downtown area and the fast-growing culture that exists in the City of Portland. 

We don’t just show you the highlights of downtown, we introduce you to the City of Portland. The only city tour in Portland that offers a well-balanced overview of both downtown and surrounding areas history, culture and current events.  

12:00pm           Lunch on own

Your choices may include the many Portland Food Carts: Whether your tastes run to Greek gyros, Vietnamese Pho, Indian curries, Polish sausages, or Moroccan tagines, you can wet your appetite at Portland Food Carts all over town.

Or Jake’s Grill located downtown offering some of the cities best seafood

Or Daily Café were the locals come daily to meet and greet each other.  

                                                      
1:00pm             After lunch Spend a little time Shopping

Your tour guide will take you into different parts of the city shopping at some of the  top boutique shops and markets. Some of the areas may include:

Boutiques on NW 23rd: Sometimes called “trendy-third.” NW 23rd Avenue is lined with shops that sell high-end furniture, fashions, housewares, and splurge-worthy beauty products and the largest boutique collection of shops in the city. As you walk down the street experience the best Portland has to offer.

Shops in the Pearl District: Explore  an award-winning, internationally recognized leader in urban renewal. Often considered the “gold standard” of live, work and play mixed-use space, the Pearl District is a superb affirmation that a miraculous quality of life can rise from the ashes of urban decay. 

Lloyd Center: Oregon’s largest mall with some the finest clothing stores, shoes, hats, jewelry and featuring an indoor ice skating rink,.

North Mississippi Avenue:  Portland’s historic Mississippi Avenue Shopping and Restaurant District has a culture all its own, combining originality, variety, and excellence with style and energy. Almost every business is locally owned and operated, making it a welcome break from the corporate fare found elsewhere. Below is a listing sure to satisfy even the most energetic shopper, the most discerning or just plain hungry diner, and the most intrepid explorer.

  • Gypsy Chic: The name says it all: fashion in sophisticated, contemporary, “sassy” style, extravagantly arrayed in the Mississippi Avenue boutique founded by Jamie Jensen. Jewelry, clothes, accessories, tapes tries, and more.

Day 3             

9:00am             Full Day Shopping   &  Oregon Wine Tasting

No Sales Tax! Shop until you drop!  Join us as we depart to the number one shopping destination in all of the Pacific Northwest, Woodburn Outlet Stores.  Spend the morning and afternoon in a variety of stores at both high-end and great bargain shops.  Optional complimentary wine tasting after shopping to reflex on your Oregon shopping experience.  

 10:15am           Woodburn Outlet Stores: 

 The largest outlet center in the Pacific Northwest with over 85 stores representing big name brands. Shoppers will enjoy the skylight-covered walkways and attractive Northwest architecture and landscaping.

    2:00 pm       Depart for Bridgeport Shopping Village:  

Offers an exclusive mix of local, regional and national shops unlike any other shopping experience in Oregon.

5:30pm Return to  Portland for optional wine tasting or return to hotel for a free evening

Day 4

9:00am                     Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Tour

Meet in hotel lobby for transportation to daily activity.  As you Cruise along the Historic Columbia River Highway National Scenic Byway, you will visit, Crown Point Vista House, Latourell Falls and Multnomah Falls

  Crown Point Vista HouseCrown Point is the name of a spectacular promontory on the Columbia River Gorge and an associated state park in Oregon. The historic Crown Point is the best known of the scenic lookouts along the Historic Columbia River Highway, providing a panoramic view of the Columbia River.  

 Latourell Falls: Plunges 249 feet (76 m) over a massive wall of columnar basalt,  some of the most unique formations in the Pacific Northwest,  before cascading hastily towards the Columbia River. This waterfall is usually most recognized for the large patch of bright yellow lichen adorning the cliff face to the right of the falls, and this characteristic has led many famous photographers to give this location their attention. and if you stand in just the right place, and look way up, behind the falls you see another fall!

Multnomah Falls Plummeting 620 feet (189 m) from its origins on Larch Mountain, Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. Nearly two million visitors a year come to see this ancient waterfall, making it Oregon’s number one tourists  destination.  

Return to Portland for lunch on your own in The Pearl District

 2:50 pm          Depart on Amtrak Cascades

 10:45 pm       Arrive at Pacific Central Station, Vancouver, BC

61-90 days prior to event 75% refund of final total tour/package cost

31-60 days prior to event 50% return of final total tour/ package cost

30 days or less prior to departure 10% return of final total tour/package cost

Cancelled reservations may be rebooked subject to availability.
