We have tours that cover very specific areas over a three-day period which allows more
time to explore the diversity of these locations. This will give you the best opportunity
to capture the best images during the spring, summer and fall peak periods.

Featured tour: Mt. St. Helen where you’ll spend 2 nights at Eco Resort Lodge, a rustic adventure resort situated in the heart of St. Helens wilderness. At Eco Resort you can explore the mountain via horseback riding, hiking, fishing trips into private lakes for group’s helicopter rides, or tour bus! The Eco Resort will provide transportation to and from Eco Resort Lodge and St. Helens tour. Come explore this historic geologic area.

Planned Itinerary

We will cover basic and advanced techniques around composition, design, exposure theory and metering during our excursion into the great outdoors. Each participant will be given a packet of information to help guide them through the learning process. The workshop is specifically designed so that each participant is actively involved in learning and problem solving.

Morning Shoots: Rise early to capture some amazing photographs sunrise shoots over Mt. St. Helens. Then enjoy a nice breakfast at the main cabin while our professional photographic guide share some secrets on technique, exposure theory, artistic composition, manual control, travel photo tips, professional technique
proper filter usage, lighting technique, depth of field control, exposure technique.

Afternoon Shoots: In the afternoon we will review key concepts, critique the morning shoots and previous day’s images, and reinforce learning techniques. We also reinforce many of the techniques and philosophy and techniques from skills points learned from your professional knowledge points.

Evening Shoots: We head into the field for more outdoor photography. Our training is more hands on and responding to questions and situations as they occur. No better place to work through real life situations that were cover or not in class or on the previous day’s shoot.

Both days we will use the same consistent approach to reinforce what we have learned. The last day we follow the same process and plan travel back to Portland in the evening after experiencing our last dinner at the lodge. This is a great time to review and answer any question regarding the basic and advanced techniques around composition, design, exposure theory and metering.

Requirements:
• Camera Gear should consist of
o 35-mm digital Camera
o Wide Angle Lens
o Telephoto Lens
o Macro Lens
o Tripod
o Cable Release
o Polarizing Filter
o Small Reflectors
• Working knowledge of your camera will be helpful to achieve great photographs. We will review basic camera operation relating to ISO, shutter speed, and aperture opening. We recommend you bring your camera manual to help with the working operation of your specific model camera.
